About us

The mission of “YourFlightRights” Foundation is to educate and inform the citizens about rights as an airline passengers.

Hey, traveler, do you know your passenger rights?

We’ve created YourFlightRights to improve your awareness and to help you understand in a simple and accessible language about your rights as a passenger and the steps you should take in case you are in a situation of a delayed or canceled flight, denial of boarding or luggage problems.

We all know that everything could happen at any time. That’s why, our goal is to make you feel safe and confident and to overcome the hassle experienced due to flight cancellation, delayed flights and denied boarding. What’s more, with the information we are publishing, you could easily avoid discomfort or disturbances and to minimize problematic situations as well. With us, you will also get to know what to do if you missed an important meeting or connecting flights, how to manage with the stress and discomfort from prolonged waiting at airports especially if you are with children.

Remember, if you are aware of your rights you could easily minimize the discomfort and receive compensation for the damages – the value you receive in each journey is an important fact because any disruption leads to significant financial and non-financial damages to passengers. The European Commission has introduced a number of rights and obligations to carriers which are outlined in Regulation (EC) 261/2004 intending to guarantee one’s right to care and provide them with the necessary assistance in case of trouble. What’s more, the EU Regulation entitles passenger to receive compensation between EUR 250 and EUR 600 in case of delayed, canceled or overbooked flight.
